WHO ARE WE? -- We're people, ordinary people just like you. If there is anything that sets us apart, it is the Christian faith we share. We take God's Word as truth; our sole source of authority. We look to Jesus Christ as savior and Lord. We laugh with those who laugh and cry with those who cry. We share life's joys, sorrows, triumphs, tragedies, and whatever else may come our way. We worship, pray, sing, and study together. Our goal is to live each day for the glory of God and find a home with Him for all eternity. We try to be Christians -- as the Bible defines the term.

WHAT IS A CHRISTIAN? -- The Bible presents a Christian as one who has:

  • Believed the Gospel of Christ. (Rom 10:8-17)
  • Repented of sins. (Luke 13:1-5)
  • Confessed Christ as Lord. (Romans 10:10)
  • Obeyed Christ through baptism for the forgiveness of sins. (Acts 2:38)
  • Been saved by God's grace. (Titus 2:11)
  • Been added to the church. (Acts 2:41, Acts 2:47 (NKJV))
  • Become committed to Biblical living. (Philippians 1:27)

But being a Christian is more than just working through a list. Christians enjoy a new relationship with God -- and that is something very special. They commit to honor God, trust His promises, and live faithfully. They are blessed with forgiveness of sins, God's loving care, joy, peace, and the promise of eternal life. Christians live each day for the glory of God and -- perhaps more important -- enjoy the fellowship of others making the same journey. That fellowship is found in the church.

WHAT IS THE CHURCH? -- The word church comes from the Greek word ekklesia and means "a called out assembly."

  • It was founded by Christ. (Matthew 16:18)
  • It grows by teaching the Gospel. (Matt 28:18-20)
  • Its members are all the saved. (Acts 2:41, Acts 2:47 (NKJV))
  • Christ has all authority! (Ephesians 1:22)
  • It's described as:
    • The Kingdom of God. (Acts 8:12)
    • The Body of Christ. (Colossians 1:24)
    • The household of God. (1 Timothy 3:15)
  • Its members form independent, self-governing local assemblies.
    (in obedience to Biblical teaching)

The church is people -- God's people -- whether viewed as a great assembly of all Christians, or individual congregations working for the glory of God. It gives us a way to organize locally for our mutual benefit and support while helping to define our overall relationship to God.

ARE YOU LOOKING? -- We like to think of ourselves as friendly and hope that you'll agree. But more than that we are a Christian family modeled after what we read in the Bible. If you're looking for a place to worship, Dublin may be your home. We hope that we will have the opportunity to get to know you and that you will join us to learn more about what God wants us all to be.
